55 km from the hotel Prategiano in Tuscany Maremma: Grosseto is Maremma's main town and stretches along the Ombrone river valley near the coast. This town developped later than most of the other ancient Maremma villages. Presumably, it dates back to 935 when Roselle was fully destroyed by the Saracene pirates.

It is the perfect combination for those who want to enjoy the hinterland, while remaining close to the coast. The development of the city, compared to many villages present in Maremma, is the latest in fact the first document in which it is mentioned is the 953, when Roselle was destroyed by the Saracens. The old part of town is surrounded by the Medici walls, whose conditions are still perfect. In addition to the walls, the city is full of historical monuments such as: The Cathedral of San Lorenzo and Cathedral of Grosseto, the Church of San Francesco, located in the square;
